Aviation Sights of Long Island

The aviation seed on Long Iceland Hempstead Plains in 1909 when Glenn Curtiss had first flown planted it in his Golden Flyer biplane, had sprouted and grown over six decades period until it had ultimately connected its own soil with their moon.

Its many aerospace sights, presentation of general aviation, commercial, military and space branches, and geographically spread between Garden City and Calverton tell this trip.

Second Cradle of Aviation Museum

The Cradle of Aviation Museum, on Museum Row in Garden City near the Coliseum, Nassau Community College and Hofstra University, says most of Long Iceland Aerospace History.

Tracing its origins in 1979, when then-District Administrator Francis T.
